Future Judges Programme in civil judiciary launched

Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, inaugurated the Future Judges Programme in the civil judiciary, hosted by the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute. The event was attended by members of the programme’s Supreme and Executive Committees.
The programme forms part of a broader strategic plan to identify and train young national talent for judicial roles, thereby promoting equal opportunity, merit-based selection, and reinforcing the principles of justice and the rule of law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In his remarks, the Deputy President of the Supreme Judicial Council emphasised that the programme embodies best practices in the scientific and professional selection of judges. He noted that the adoption of these standards is key to advancing sustainable judicial development.
Dr. Khaled Serry Seyam, President of the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, stated that the programme marks a pivotal milestone in the process of judicial advancement. He highlighted the Institute’s commitment to delivering advanced training that keeps pace with legal and procedural developments while enhancing participants’ capabilities through modern learning methodologies and objective evaluation mechanisms.
Dr. Riyadh Seyadi, Director of the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, provided an overview of the programme, explaining that it includes both theoretical and practical components. Participants will engage in field training at courts and prosecution offices under the supervision of experienced judges and legal professionals. He underlined that the goal is to prepare candidates with high levels of competence and professionalism, thereby contributing to the long-term development of a robust national justice system.
The Future Judges Programme is one of the key initiatives pursued by the Supreme Judicial Council as part of its vision to train and prepare a new generation of qualified and knowledgeable judges.
